AI Living @ i-City — FAQ
Clear answers for prospective buyers — what AI Living is, what you are buying, and how the technology, choice and privacy work.
1. In one sentence, what is AI Living?
It is a home designed from day one to work with an evolving layer of artificial intelligence, robotics and wellness services — so the home can, over time, understand and respond to how the resident lives.
2. How is this different from a normal smart home?
A normal smart home is typically a collection of separate products — a smart lock, a smart speaker, a security app — that each do their own thing.
AI Living is designed so that different systems can increasingly work together. The difference the resident feels is coordination: instead of managing many separate systems, the home works together.
A smart home may allow you to use an app to switch on the air-conditioning. An AI-enabled home could eventually understand your preferences and routines and prepare the environment for you.
3. What does AI Living actually do for me as a resident?
AI Living is designed around four everyday benefits — Care, Comfort, Convenience and Community.
Care means creating a safer and more supportive living environment. Comfort means allowing the home and building to respond better to everyday needs. Convenience means reducing the effort involved in managing the home and accessing services. Community connects residents with the facilities, services and wider i-City ecosystem.
The technology is not the product by itself. Its purpose is to make everyday living better.
4. Who is AI Living designed for?
It is designed as a multi-generational residential concept.
A young professional may value convenience and help with household tasks. Families may value security, wellbeing and the ability to stay connected with family members. Older residents may eventually benefit from optional assisted-living, wellness and robotic services.
The same home is therefore designed to evolve as the resident’s needs change.
5. Is all the AI and technology available when I move in?
The home and its core building systems will be complete at vacant possession.
Optional AI, robotics, wellness and other technology services will be introduced according to their respective rollout plans, and residents can choose which available services they wish to subscribe to.
6. If I don’t subscribe to any optional technology services, will my home still function normally?
Yes. The buyer owns a complete home that functions fully without any optional technology subscription.
Everything essential to living in and enjoying the home works without a subscription. The AI and technology services add capabilities on top; they do not replace the basic functioning of the home.
7. Do I have to subscribe to all the technology services?
No. Optional services are intended to be offered separately so residents can choose the services that are relevant to them.
Residents remain in control of which optional services they want and what information they allow those services to use.
8. When will the homes be completed?
Vacant possession is targeted for 2030.
The Sale and Purchase Agreement is expected in Q2 2027, following the standard statutory process.
9. Give me a simple example of AI Living in everyday life.
Imagine coming home and the building recognises your arrival, access is seamless, your home environment can be prepared according to your preferences, and services can be accessed through one integrated platform.
Over time, optional AI services could assist with household tasks, wellness, deliveries and other everyday needs.
The important point is not any one feature. It is that these services are designed to work together.
10. Does every apartment come with a robot?
No. Personal home robots are intended to be an optional service rather than something included in the purchase price of every unit.
The building itself is being designed to accommodate robotics, while residents can decide later whether personal robotic services are useful to them.
11. What will the home robot actually be able to do?
The exact capabilities will depend on the generation of robots available closer to vacant possession.
The intention is to support practical household assistance rather than promise today’s prototype capabilities for a home being completed in 2030.
Potential applications include household chores, carrying items, simple assistance and, as the technology develops, support for older residents.
12. Why offer robots as a service rather than sell one with the apartment?
Robotics is developing rapidly.
A Robots-as-a-Service model could allow residents to benefit from maintenance, hardware upgrades and newer generations of robots rather than owning a machine that may become obsolete.
13. Is AI Living providing healthcare?
No. AI Living begins with wellness, not medical treatment.
The initial focus is on everyday wellbeing — areas such as the living environment, sleep, activity and lifestyle awareness.
AI Living is not intended to diagnose illness or replace doctors or hospitals.
14. Technology changes quickly. Won’t AI Living be out of date by the time I move in?
That concern is exactly what the design seeks to address.
The home’s role is to be ready for technology — through its physical and digital infrastructure — while the intelligence itself can increasingly be delivered through software and services that evolve over time.
The objective is for the home to keep gaining capability rather than becoming obsolete.
15. Why not decide today exactly what technology will be installed in 2030?
Technology keeps improving, and i-City is deliberately building a home that can accommodate newer generations of services at handover rather than freezing today’s version into the walls.
What you are buying is a home designed to receive an evolving service layer — so that the technologies available when residents move in can reflect the progress made between now and 2030.
16. What happens when the technology moves to a new generation?
The physical and digital platform is being designed to accommodate newer generations of technology and services as they become available.
The home is built to last. The technology is built to evolve.
17. Does buying an AI Living home mean I am agreeing to have my personal data collected?
No. Buying the home does not automatically mean consenting to the use of personal data for optional AI or wellness services.
Where an optional service requires personal data, residents will be informed what data is required, how it will be used and, where applicable, who it may be shared with before they choose whether to participate.
Choosing not to use an optional service will not affect the basic functioning of the home.
18. Who controls how my personal data is used?
Residents remain in control of whether their personal data is used for optional AI, wellness or other services.
Data will only be collected, processed or shared for purposes the resident has agreed to, under the applicable privacy and data protection requirements.
The principle is simple: your home remains your home, and optional technology remains your choice.
